By using DuctCleaning.ws you accept the terms on this page. They are short because there is not much to govern: the site is a set of articles and two calculators, there is nothing to buy, and there is no account to create.
If you do not accept these terms, the remedy is to stop using the site. Nothing here obliges you to do anything else.
What the site is, and is not
DuctCleaning.ws is an independent consumer publication. We do not clean ducts, inspect systems, sell equipment, or arrange work with contractors. Reading this site does not create a professional relationship of any kind between you and us, and it does not substitute for a qualified person examining your actual heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system. Accuracy and limits
We take accuracy seriously. Every figure is traced to a named source with a date under our fact-checking policy, and errors are corrected openly under our corrections policy.
Even so, the content is provided as it is, without warranty. Sources change after we cite them. Prices move. Regulations differ by state and by municipality. A general range published here may be wrong for your market, your home, and your system. Cost figures on this site are planning estimates drawn from published sources; they are not quotes, and no company is bound by them.
Your decisions are yours
You are responsible for what you do with the information here, including whether to hire anyone, what to pay, and what to do about a condition in your home. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of this site, from reliance on anything published on it, or from anything done or not done by a contractor.
That is not an attempt to duck responsibility for the writing. If we publish something wrong, tell us and we will fix it and say we did. But a publication cannot stand behind a decision about a building it has never seen, and any site that says otherwise is overpromising.
The calculators
The cost calculator and the decision tool are informational aids. They run in your browser, store nothing, and transmit nothing. Their outputs are estimates and general guidance built from published rates and from assumptions we disclose in full on the methodology page. They do not produce a quote, do not diagnose mold or any equipment fault, and give no medical advice.
Copyright, quoting, and reuse
The text, tables, and original analysis on this site are our copyright. Material we cite, including government documents and quotations from other publications, belongs to whoever published it.
What you may do without asking: quote reasonable extracts for commentary, journalism, research, or teaching, with attribution to DuctCleaning.ws and a link to the page you took it from. Cite our glossary definitions, which are deliberately written to be quoted, ideally linking to the specific anchor. Link to any page here from anywhere.
What you may not do: republish whole pages or substantial parts of them, scrape the site to build a competing resource, present our analysis as your own work, or use our name or content in a way that suggests we endorse a company, product, or service. We endorse no company and never will.
Links to other sites
We link to primary sources constantly, and a link is a citation rather than an endorsement. We do not control those sites, are not responsible for their content or their data practices, and cannot guarantee a link still resolves. Broken links are worth telling us about.
No commercial relationship with contractors
We accept no payment for coverage, placement, links, directory listings, or sponsored content from duct cleaning companies or anyone else in the industry.
